Deep Waters
A dive into the deep end of the pool.
The moment when the ocean floor drops out from your feet.
That deep breath to dive down to explore below the surface.
Deep waters beckon us to adventure, unknowns, and trust. And there are seasons of the soul that invite us into deep waters.
When we feel more agency in a situation, the deep waters look adventurous and fun. Curiosity leads the way. However, sometimes we don’t choose the deep waters, so we must decide how to respond to them. Courageously? Cautiously?
No matter how the deep waters have come, we have a choice in how we respond to them. What helps strengthen our response is the practice we’ve had before. Are we strong swimmers? Have we learned breath control? Do we know where our help is and how to access it?
Connecting these to our spiritual lives, what spiritual practices have been regular rhythms? Where have we practiced reliance, community, strengthening, and more?
We all encounter deep waters. We’d love to be a place that strengthens you for when they come – whether adventurous or arduous.
Two ways are highlighted below.
