Happy Easter! // Celebrating Resurrection Hope with You!

What I loved about living in the Pacific Northwest was the nurse logs. When the storms came, trees would break, fall, and die. Death would become part of the landscape of forested woods. Yet, a tiny shoot would begin to rise out of one fallen tree. This one shoot became a few shoots, and the short ones grew taller until the dead tree becomes a home for new life.

These nurse logs always remind me of Easter. When Jesus died, his death served the purpose of sacrificial love through obedience. But death didn’t have the final word. It could not leave its sting of decay and futility. Instead, “the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it” (John 1:5).

As we celebrate Easter, we remember that “the light and life that has come into the world” is stronger than any darkness and death. We pray that you will sense the gentle nudges of life springing up, of light shining through the cracks in the dark. As we receive these reminders of the Risen One, together, we can hope in the fullness of life that is to come.

Happy Easter! He is Risen!
